Welcome to RCAA
The Refugee Communities Association of Australia (RCAA) is an independent, refugee- led organisation established in 2019.
Guided by the principle For Refugees, With Refugees, By Refugees, RCAA represents the authentic voice of grassroots refugee communities across Australia. Our leadership spans state and territory chapters, ensuring that local needs are addressed within a coordinated national framework putting refugee’ s voice first.
The RCAA is working towards being a self- reliant, progressive, and culturally inclusive organisation focused on advancing the voices and interests of all refugee and people seeking asylum communities across Australia through policy, advocacy, leadership, support, ser vices, and capacity building.
Through consulting with our communities, we have seen a genuine desire for people with lived experience to lead the ongoing dialogue on issues that impact their communities. RCAA is empowered to work towards this and is proud to make it a leading theme of our second conference.
RCAA works to empower refugee communities through advocacy, capacity building, and strong collaboration. RCAA partners with governments at all levels, ser vice providers, and the private sector to strengthen refugee participation and underpin settlement needs through inclusive, community- driven approaches.
As a trusted voice in national dialogue with an international presence, RCAA continues to advance refugee leadership. It ensures that people with lived experience are at the centre of decision- making on issues that directly impact their lives, helping shape more inclusive policies and systems.
